What is Qantas Frequent Flyer?

Qantas Frequent Flyer is the loyalty programme of Qantas. Members can earn Qantas Points through eligible flights and a broad range of partners, then use them for eligible rewards.

Qantas Points are distinct from Status Credits, which are used for progress through membership tiers.

02

How to earn Qantas Points

Eligible Qantas and partner flights are one route. Depending on where you live, participating cards, retailers, hotels and other partners may also contribute points.

Check the earning table and eligibility conditions rather than assuming every booking earns the same amount.

03

How to use Qantas Points

Classic Flight Rewards and other eligible travel rewards are common uses. Availability varies, so search your real dates and compare points, taxes and carrier charges with the alternative cash fare.

04

Understanding value

Value depends on the reward. Calculate what you would reasonably pay in cash, subtract unavoidable charges, and divide by the points required. Avoid comparing against an inflated fare you would never purchase.

05

Activity and programme rules

Check the current account activity requirements and programme terms. Keep records of eligible earning or redemption activity and confirm how long changes take to appear.

06

Beginner mistakes

  • Confusing Qantas Points with Status Credits.
  • Transferring or buying points without a usable award.
  • Ignoring taxes and carrier charges.
  • Assuming every partner flight has reward availability.
